The Project
The Game
A multimillion dollar partnership between DRESSX — the world's leading digital fashion company — and Meta, bringing a fashion-forward competitive game to Horizon Worlds. Inspired by games like Dress to Impress, players race against the clock to dress to a theme, walk the catwalk, strike poses, and earn emoji reactions from the crowd.
The Mechanics
Item unlocking, coin collection, seasonal item rotations, and competitive rankings that reset each season drove repeat engagement and delight — resulting in 2.5× more time spent per Monthly Active User than the Top 10 games on the platform.
Technical Complexity
Near-daily syncs with Meta's internal engineering team as new platform features were built to support gameplay. The game had to support VR and Mobile with full parity — balancing high-cost fashion model assets, catwalk animations, and a complex UI system tracking every item tried on and worn. Performance optimization was a constant, rigorous discipline.
My Role
Brought in mid-project to repair a fractured partnership — a platform update had scrapped previous work, trust between the client and team had eroded, and internal team dynamics needed rebuilding. I reestablished the relationship with the new Meta producer, built strong internal communication systems, and took the project over the line to a successful launch at the end of 2025.
What the work actually required
When I was brought onto this project, it wasn't a greenfield build — it was a rescue. One year into development, a platform update wiped significant progress. A new producer had come in on the Meta side. Trust had broken down between the client and the Kluge team, and internal conflicts were undermining execution. My job was to stabilize, realign, and deliver. That meant rebuilding candid communication with Meta's engineering team, resetting team dynamics internally, and maintaining momentum on a technically demanding dual-platform build — all while managing a partnership with two of the most high-profile organizations in digital fashion and social VR.

The Project
The Game
Kluge's first 3P project with Meta, built on a limited toolset under a compressed timeline. Chicken Tag is a tail tag game where players compete to possess the chicken as long as possible — dodging obstacles, outrunning opponents, and using power-ups to gain the edge.
Retention Mechanics
Daily login rewards, timed loot boxes earned through in-game collection, and a reward probability system offering power-ups, soft currency, and limited wearables. Every mechanic was designed to build habit loops and drive players back day after day.
Dual-Platform Build
The first Kluge title designed for VR and Mobile simultaneously from day one — requiring distinct FOV considerations, platform-specific user signaling, and performance trade-offs. The platform's UI constraints demanded creative workarounds throughout development and live service.
My Role
Lead Producer from greenlight through live service — responsible for shipping the game, then owning the post-launch triage that turned around stability, retention, and engagement metrics in the first four months. Collaborated with the team to build a data-driven Live Ops strategy and content cadence that drove results.
The post-launch reality
The platform could not support the robust UI we'd planned, performance degraded under load, and a memory leak was crashing games after just a few rounds. We went into immediate triage post-launch — bug fixing, optimization, and rebuilding player signaling from the ground up. The priority was clear: stability first, then funnel. We diagnosed exactly where we were losing players in the gameplay loop and addressed each drop-off point systematically. The result was a 200% increase in Sustained Visit Rate in the first four months of live service — turning a rocky launch into one of the platform's strongest-performing titles.

4x Talks
The Live Ops strategy we developed on Chicken Tag was selected for presentation at Meta's 2025 Creator Summit. The session was so well received that Meta asked me to deliver it in three additional formats: two 2-hour deep-dives and one 45-minute version — reaching creators across the platform with frameworks for building sustainable engagement.

The Project
The Experience
A virtual recreation of MPK 21 — Meta's iconic campus — built for attendees to gather, watch the keynote live, and get an early look at the newly revealed Quest 3 and Meta Ray-Bans. Minigames, quests, wearables, and nametag stickers gave visitors reasons to explore and return throughout the event.
The Keynote Moment
The centerpiece: virtual displays of the new Quest 3 and Ray-Bans appeared in the world at the exact moment Mark mentioned them in the keynote — synchronized across thousands of virtual attendees in real time. A technically precise and deeply satisfying moment.
My Role
Producer and main liaison to Meta's leadership — managing relationships from engineering, audio, marketing, QA, and production teams all the way up to Mark Zuckerberg's office. Responsible for stakeholder alignment, bug burndowns, priority triage, and keeping the production schedule intact under constant change.
Platform in Flux
During our 4-month window, TypeScript, Blender, and PopcornFX were all integrated into Horizon's engine, and avatars received legs for the first time. Every week the ground shifted. We delivered anyway — on time and to quality.
The late-stage crisis
Just weeks before launch, internal Meta stakeholders saw the build for the first time at Beta. Their response: cut the environment in half and change the lighting from dusk to daytime. With new contractors to onboard, platform tools changing weekly, and a fixed launch date tied to a globally broadcast keynote, this was a significant ask. We absorbed the feedback, triaged what was achievable, and delivered a version that satisfied leadership while protecting what made the experience worthwhile. The result strengthened our relationship with Meta — we were awarded the 2024 Connect project without a competitive bid.

The Project
The Experience
Returning to Connect with a stronger foundation — this time working directly with Meta's internal Art team and Creative Director, who brought pre-approved concepting and a clear vision. A Meta Game Designer led ideation and prototyping for a collection game, selfie station, and nametag interaction. Daily collaboration, tighter integration, higher ambition.
The Keynote Moment
In 2024, the product reveal evolved: devices flew in and landed on pedestals, spinning in place as they were described in the keynote — the virtual audience gathered around them in real time. A more dynamic and theatrical moment than 2023.
My Role
Same rigorous producer responsibilities as 2023 — bug burndowns, stakeholder triage, constant priority rebalancing — but with deeper integration into the Meta team. I was invited into their internal war room day-of and their post-Connect retro, providing feedback as a trusted collaborator rather than an external vendor.
Technical Challenges
Performance and a limited UI system remained the core constraints. A major new capability — concurrent player count nearly doubling to 25 — arrived before launch and had to be integrated and stabilized. We published a fully stable world on time, plus multiple backup builds at varying fidelity levels.
Deeper trust, higher stakes
Connect 2024 was a different kind of pressure than 2023. Where 2023 was about proving we could deliver under chaos, 2024 was about delivering at a higher standard for a team that now expected excellence. Being embedded into Meta's internal war room on event day — not as a vendor but as a collaborator — was a signal of how far the relationship had come. Every piece of feedback from their team at the end was positive.

Kluge's first Roblox title — a multiplayer music rhythm game that pits a DJ against the dancers. The DJ sends obstacles across the dancefloor while dancers dodge, collect notes of varying value, and fight to stay on their feet. Get hit or fall off and you respawn above the floor. Built by a tight team of three.
